Terms of Service
1. Introduction
Welcome to WriteAlt. By accessing or using our alt-text generation and image-optimization service (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Account and Eligibility
You are responsible for providing accurate account information and keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity performed through your account.
You must use the Service only for lawful business or personal purposes and in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
3. Use of the Service
WriteAlt allows users to generate alt-text suggestions, optimize images, connect supported third-party platforms, and save results to connected services when authorized by the user.
You are responsible for reviewing generated descriptions before publishing them and for deciding whether an image requires descriptive alt text, empty alt text, or another accessibility treatment.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of images, text, prompts, metadata, and other content submitted to WriteAlt (“User Content”).
You grant WriteAlt a limited, non-exclusive license to access, process, analyze, transmit, and store User Content only as necessary to provide the features you request.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload and process User Content.
5. Image Processing and Third-Party AI Services
When you request alt-text generation or image optimization, the selected image may be transmitted securely to a third-party AI processing provider.
During ordinary processing, WriteAlt does not permanently store image files on its own servers. The third-party AI processing environment may temporarily retain image data for up to 60 minutes for processing, security, and technical reliability. Temporary image data is then automatically deleted according to the provider’s retention controls.
If you explicitly choose an import or storage feature, the selected image may be stored on the WriteAlt platform until you remove it or request deletion.
WriteAlt does not use submitted images, Webflow content, Google Drive content, or generated descriptions to train general-purpose AI models.
6. AI-Generated Output and Quality Guarantee
WriteAlt generates alt-text suggestions using artificial intelligence. The Service is designed to support accessible content and WCAG 2.2 best practices.
The correct treatment of an image depends on its purpose, surrounding content, and whether it is decorative, functional, informative, or complex. Users must review generated descriptions before publishing them.
If a generated description is materially incorrect or unusable for its intended image, contact [email protected]. After reviewing the request, WriteAlt will refund the credits used or provide replacement credits in accordance with its refund policy.
WriteAlt does not claim that alt text alone makes an entire website or page compliant with WCAG 2.2. Website owners remain responsible for reviewing their content and meeting all applicable accessibility requirements.
7. Credits, Subscriptions, and Payments
Some Service features require credits, a subscription, or another paid plan. Credits and subscriptions are used according to the pricing information shown at the time of purchase.
Credits may be consumed when generating or regenerating alt text. Image optimization may use a separate allowance or pricing method as shown in the Service.
Unused credits, subscriptions, and purchases are subject to the refund terms displayed on the applicable pricing or checkout page.
8. Webflow and Other Integrations
When you connect Webflow or another supported platform, you authorize WriteAlt to access only the data and permissions required for the features you select.
For Webflow, WriteAlt may access selected sites, CMS collections, CMS items, image fields, asset metadata, image URLs, existing alt text, and authorized-user information. WriteAlt may save generated alt text to the selected Webflow image field and replace a selected asset when you request image optimization.
WriteAlt does not publish a Webflow site automatically. You remain responsible for reviewing changes and using the platform’s normal save and publish controls.
You may disconnect an integration at any time. Disconnecting stops future requests for that connection but does not remove content already saved in the connected platform.
9. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes.
Upload content that infringes another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user’s account.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
Circumvent usage limits, credit controls, or security features.
Use generated content to misrepresent accessibility compliance.
10. Intellectual Property
WriteAlt and its software, branding, interfaces, documentation, and technology are owned by WriteAlt or its licensors.
You retain ownership of your User Content and generated descriptions saved to your account or connected platforms, subject to the licenses necessary to provide the Service.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of your content to WriteAlt.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by the WriteAlt Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how WriteAlt handles account information, Webflow data, Google Drive data, images, generated descriptions, temporary AI processing, retention, and deletion.
12. Service Availability
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue part of the Service when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or product improvements.
We do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
13. Disclaimers
The Service and AI-generated output are provided based on the information and files submitted by the user. AI results may contain errors, omissions, or unsuitable wording.
WriteAlt does not replace human accessibility review, professional accessibility auditing, legal advice, or compliance advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WriteAlt disclaims warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WriteAlt is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated content, service interruption, or third-party platform changes.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create security risks, or fail to pay applicable charges.
Termination does not remove content already saved to Webflow, Google Drive, or another connected platform.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated Terms will be published on this page with a new update date.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective means that you accept the revised Terms.

Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
WriteAlt respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, transfer, retain, and protect information when you use WriteAlt, including the Webflow integration and Google Drive features.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
We may collect your email address, account details, API settings, text prompts, SEO keywords, generated descriptions, and images that you explicitly submit or import.
Integration information
When you connect Webflow, we may process Webflow account identity, authorized-user information, site IDs, collection IDs, CMS item IDs, image URLs, asset metadata, current alt text, and authorization information required to operate the integration.
When you connect Google Drive, we may process your Google account email, profile information, file names, file IDs, thumbnails, folder information, file metadata, and the image files you explicitly select.
Automatically collected information
We may collect limited device, browser, IP, security, diagnostic, and usage information needed to operate the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot errors.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Authenticate and maintain your account.
Connect to Webflow or Google Drive at your request.
Load selected images and metadata.
Generate or regenerate alt-text suggestions.
Optimize selected images when requested.
Save generated descriptions or selected imported images according to your instructions.
Display credits, processing status, and results.
Provide support, security, and service communications.
We do not sell user data or use connected-service data for advertising.
4. Temporary AI Processing
When you request alt-text generation or image optimization, the selected image and relevant prompt information may be sent securely to our third-party AI processing provider.
The image is processed temporarily in the provider's environment and may remain there for up to 60 minutes. It is then automatically deleted according to the provider's retention controls.
WriteAlt does not use submitted images, Google Drive data, Webflow content, or generated descriptions to train general-purpose AI models. Third-party processing is limited to providing the requested WriteAlt feature.
WriteAlt does not permanently store image files on its own servers during ordinary processing. If you explicitly choose an import or storage feature, the selected image may be stored on the WriteAlt platform until you remove it or request deletion.
5. Webflow Integration
When you connect Webflow, WriteAlt receives only the permissions and information required for the features you use.
WriteAlt may access:
The authorized Webflow user identity.
Available Webflow sites.
Selected CMS collections and items.
Selected Image or Multi-Image fields.
Image URLs, asset metadata, and existing alt text.
For image generation, the selected image and relevant information are sent through the WriteAlt backend to the temporary AI processing provider. The generated description is returned to WriteAlt and saved to the selected Webflow image field when you confirm or start the requested action.
For image optimization, the selected asset is temporarily fetched, processed, and returned as an optimized file. The selected Webflow asset is updated in place when optimization succeeds. WriteAlt does not create duplicate CMS items or assets as part of this operation.
WriteAlt does not store Webflow image files permanently on its own servers during ordinary processing. Temporary processing data may remain in the third-party AI processing environment for up to 60 minutes and is then automatically deleted.
Disconnecting Webflow removes the saved connection and stops further Webflow API requests for that connection. Disconnecting does not delete content already saved in Webflow.
6. Google Drive and Google User Data
This section applies when you sign in with Google or connect Google Drive.
Data accessed
WriteAlt may access your Google email address and profile information for authentication. If you connect Google Drive, WriteAlt may access the file metadata and image files that you explicitly select.
How Google data is used
Google data is used only to authenticate your account, display your selected files, and provide the requested alt-text or image-processing features.
Google Drive images are not permanently stored on WriteAlt servers during ordinary processing. Selected images may be transmitted to the temporary AI processing provider, where they may remain for up to 60 minutes before automatic deletion.
If you explicitly choose to import or store an image in WriteAlt, that image may remain on the WriteAlt platform until you remove it or request account deletion.
WriteAlt does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, use it for unrelated analytics, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. WriteAlt does not transfer Google user data to third parties except when necessary to provide the requested image-processing feature through the temporary AI provider.
Retention
Google account and profile information: retained while your WriteAlt account remains active.
OAuth connection data: retained while the connection is active or as required for security and legal purposes.
Ordinary Google Drive image processing: temporary processing only, up to 60 minutes in the AI provider's environment.
Explicitly imported images: retained until you remove them or request deletion.
Generated descriptions and account settings: retained while needed to provide your account features, unless you request deletion.
Your controls
You can disconnect Google Drive from WriteAlt settings, revoke access through your Google Account permissions, remove imported images, or request deletion of your WriteAlt account.
WriteAlt's use of Google user data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.
7. Data Sharing
We may share limited information with:
Hosting and infrastructure providers.
The temporary AI processing provider when you request image processing.
Security and support providers needed to operate WriteAlt.
Legal authorities when required by law.
We do not sell personal data or share connected-service content for advertising.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your WriteAlt account and stored WriteAlt data by contacting [email protected].
Deletion removes eligible WriteAlt account information, settings, connection records, and explicitly imported content. It does not remove CMS content, alt text, or assets already saved in Webflow or Google Drive.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data. Contact [email protected] to make a request.
11. Cookies and Usage Data
WriteAlt may use essential cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, and service operation. Any optional analytics must be disclosed separately and must not be used to inspect connected Google Drive or Webflow content for advertising.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or data practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
